2009 New Presidents Program
January 3-4: Bonita Springs, FL
If you are newly appointed to the president's role, you'll want to
join your colleagues for a day-and-a-half program just for new college leaders. You'll learn the ins and outs of a wide range of presidential issues, all from the perspective of experienced presidents and other experts.

2009 Presidents Institute
January 4-7: Bonita Springs, FL
The Presidents Institute is an annually held meeting for presidents of independent colleges and universities that includes a day-and-a-half program for new presidents.

2009 Presidential Vocation and Institutional Mission Seminar
Presidents Program: Follow-up Meeting
January 7-8, 2009, Bonita Springs, FL

Presidents who attended the summer 2008 seminar will reconvene for a follow-up meeting after the 2009 Presidents Institute.

2009 Learning Spaces and Technology Workshop
March 6-8: Richmond, VA
The Learning Spaces and Technology Workshop is designed to help colleges and universities plan for effective technology-enhanced learning spaces.

2009 NetVUE Conference
March 12–14: Indianapolis, IN

Teams of campus leaders are invited to participate in a conference on “Vocation in Undergraduate Education: Extending the Theological Exploration of Vocation,” designed to foster vocational exploration in campus communities through the formation of a Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE).

2009 New York Times Student News Editors Workshop
March 20: New York, NY

The annual Student News Editors Workshop allows student news editors to spend a day at the New York Times exploring the role of a newspaper in society, meeting with Times correspondents and editors, and developing their journalistic skills.

2009 Department and Division Chair Workshops
April 2-4: St. Louis, MO
May 27-29: Cambridge, MA
June 2-4: Pittsburgh, PA
June 9-11: San Diego, CA

To assist independent colleges and universities in strengthening leadership at the department level, these workshops are offered to experienced, as well as new, department/division chairs. The workshops focus on the distinctive challenges of department leadership in small and mid-sized, private colleges and universities.

2009 CIC/Gilder Lehrman American History Seminar
June 7-10: New Haven, CT
This intensive four-day seminar offers a unique opportunity for faculty members in history and related fields to debate a prominent American history topic with experts and colleagues.

2009 Network for Effective Language Learning (NELL) Summer Meeting
July 13-17: Beverly, MA
Institutions participating in the 2009 Network will each send a four-person team to this summer meeting to develop innovative approaches to foreign language learning.

2009 Wal-Mart College Success Awards Conference
July 19-21: Washington, DC
Institutions selected for the Wal-Mart College Success Awards will gather at this conference to discuss their programs for first-generation students.

2009 Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA) Consortium Summer Meeting
August 2-4: Location TBA
This annual meeting of CLA Consortium members has convened each summer since 2005, during which participants evaluate and discuss key issues of the CLA project.

2009 Chief Academic Officers Institute
November 7-10: Santa Fe, NM
The Institute for Chief Academic Officers is an annual meeting for CAOs of independent colleges and universities that includes a workshop for new CAOs.
