The Campus Update section of the Independent contains a compedium of news occuring on CIC campuses, demonstrating the range of important contributions and achievements CIC institutions are making nationwide:

  • Campus Update - Summer 2007
    - Chapman University (CA) opens Marion Knott Studios, Georgetown College (KY) graduates its inaugural class from the First Tee Scholars Program, University of Puget Sound develops software to increase fair voting standards, and numerous CIC presidents take leadership roles in the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment.
  • Campus Update - Winter/Spring 2007
    - Dakota Wesleyan University (SD) dedicates the George and Eleanor McGovern Library and Center for Leadership and Public Service, Washington and Lee University (VA) helps launch the Nuclear Energy Project, Lyon College (AR) receives its 13th Professor of the Year Award in the last 18 years, and numerous CIC institutions undertake environmental initiatives.
  • Campus Update - Fall 2006
    - Chowan University (NC) and other CIC institutions conduct international activities, Chapman University (FL) professor helps authenticate and translate the newly discovered Gospel of Judas, Warren Wilson College (NC) converts its campus to 100 percent "green" power, and King's College (PA) announces new Genomics Center.
  • Campus Update - Summer 2006
    - Eckerd College (FL) students climb Mt. Kilimanjaro as part of leadership course, Wabash College (IN) announces a new national liberal arts study, and numerous CIC institutions continue hurricane relief efforts during spring break.
  • Campus Update - Winter/Spring 2006
    - Pace University (NY) becomes new home for Emmy-nominated television show, Ashland University (OH) and Aquinas College (MI) launch innovative online resources, and numerous CIC institutions rally to aid Hurricane Katrina victims.
  • Campus Update - Summer 2005
    - President Bush gives commencement address at Calvin College (MI), Cedarville University (OH) claims its second-straight world championship in intercollegiate solar boating, and CIC institutions increase programs and activities on the study of Islam and Middle East relations.
  • Campus Update - Spring 2005
    - Irish Prime Minister visits Le Moyne College (NY), Benedictine University (IL) participates in cutting-edge physics project, and numerous CIC institutions aid tsunami-devastated regions.
  • Campus Update - Fall 2004
    - Saint John's University (MN) delegates meet with Pope John Paul II, Benedictine College (KS) alumnus awarded Nobel Peace Prize, and various CIC institutions host stranded students from dismantled university in Belarus.

    - Flagler College's (FL) student team wins USA Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) National Exposition, Barry University (FL) alumnus announces candidacy for 2005 Iraq presidential election, and Huntington College (IN) becomes the new home for a national organization, the Conference on Faith and History.

    - CIC campuses sponsor presidential election events, Calvin College (MI) student discovers a new asteroid, and St. Norbert College (WI) is selected for Profiles in Success publication.

    - Houghton College (NY) debuts a new electric, zero-emission car on campus, Wilson College (PA) partners with Saudi Arabian women's college, and Shenandoah University (VA) receives grant from U.S. Department of Health and Services to support curricular development in bioterrorism.
  • Campus Update - Summer 2003
    - Regent University (VA) student appointed vice president of the African nation of Zambia, St. Michael's College (VT) receives personal library archives from noted literary critic Harold Bloom, and numerous CIC institutions graduate Kosovo refugees.
